研究室では長谷川が学生の頃から 20 年以上使っているアドバンテックの送風乾燥機があるのですが，しばらく前からファンがイオンを出すようになっていて，9 月末には時折ファンが停止するような状態になってしまいました．古い機器なので，もう修理は無理かもしれないと半分諦めながらメーカーに問い合わせてみましたところ，ファンモーターの故障ならまだ修理可能ということで，引き取り修理をお願いしていました．その乾燥機が木曜日に一ヶ月ぶりに戻ってきました．戻ってきた乾燥機はファンの音が非常に静かになっていて，周りがうるさい実験室では動いているのが分からないぐらいになりました．ここのところ，製氷機，冷却水循環装置，送風乾燥機と立て続けに研究室のベテラン機器（いずれも 20 年以上使用）が不調に陥っていますが，それぞれ何とか使い続けることができています．
